Photo: Friends of the Dales If you love the Yorkshire Dales, you might like to think about joining Friends of the Dales, a registered charity set up in 1981 to campaign for the protection and enhancement of the Dales and to encourage everyone to value and enjoy this special area. They now have over a thousand members (including me!)
Membership is very reasonable, from just £25 per person.
In return you'll know you'll receive a really good quarterly magazine, full of interesting articles - I always learn something by reading, free entry to their annual events programme and some discounts to stores such as Cotswold Outdoor. They are the only membership and campaigning charity for the Dales, who want to see this special area remain protected, valued, enjoyed and loved for ever.
