  • The kitchen at Bolton Castle is warm and welcoming, with great cakes and castle-themed toys for children to play with while you relax
  • Kiplin Hall's Tea Room is one on a grand scale in a beautiful location: Jacobean style wood-panelled walls, plus the outdoors option of their Tea Tent for picnics on sunny days! Fresh foods on the menu grown right there in Kiplin Hall's gardens
  • Falls Cafe & Bistro is cosy and also has a mini gallery of local artists displayed on the walls, with gifts in their tiny gift shop
  • The Cart House Tearoom, Hardraw: homemade produce, scones and soup - an ideal stop after a visit to Hardraw Scar waterfall
  • Old Barn Cafe in the heart of Malham serves up good food, from a Yorkshire all day breakfast to a delicious cream tea, and now also offers a gluten free menu. Takeaways available for walkers: muddy boots welcome! Try a Brymor ice cream for a treat
  • The curiously named Ye Olde Naked Man Cafe is a mainstay for great refreshments and sweet treats galore in Settle's Market Place. Great friendly food service to take away or eat in, in this busy traditional tea room and cafe
  • Enjoy a walk down to the waterfalls before a meal or snack in the welcoming cafe at Berry’s Farm Shop at Swinithwaite
  • Dales Bike Centre at Fremington near Reeth is small, cosy and full of fantastic cakes, biscuits, and treats
  • Country Harvest at Ingleton is a great gift shop and cafe, with a great programme of demonstrations and events
  • Fresh baked goods and delicious daily main course specials await inside the striking traditional Georgian Cross View Tea Rooms & Restaurant. Enjoy watching Richmond from its big bay windows
  • Three Hares Café in Sedbergh has a strong local reputation for its great fresh bread, cakes and snacks
  • Hawes Caffè Curva is excellent, selling delicious homemade scones, cakes, and traybakes and very reasonably priced. A lovely setting in the village as well

  • Settle's Folly Coffee House in the town's historic 17th century house and museum has a sumptuous array of freshly made cakes every day. Have a scone and a scallywag after your meal, and try a low sugar cordial from their refreshing drinks range
  • Wilfred Deli & Pantry on Richmond's Finkle Sreet is a food lovers heaven - offering a range of cheeses, freshly cooked foods to take away, wines and other treats
  • The Corn Mill Tearoom on the green in Bainbridge serves lovely cakes and light meals
  • The Coppice Cafe at the Aysgarth National Park centre does lovely fresh home-made scones
  • Challenge yourself to try as many flavours as possible at Brymor Ice Cream just round the corner from the beautiful Jervaulx Abbey, where there's also a tea room
  • Great local tea room with good food and gifts in a lovely village in the Dale: Zarina’s in Kettlewell
  • Muker has a wonderful Village Teashop and Store - cosy, olde-worldy inside with coal fires, a sideboard heaving with homemade cakes and outside seating where you can watch the world go by. The Yorkshire Rarebit they serve comes highly recommended!
  • The award-winning Mill Race Tea Shop at Aysgarth has a large selection of homemade baking and treats. The Afternoon Tea is a particularly special treat.
  • Ireby Green Farm Shop & Cafe prides itself on providing a cosy setting and good food from local producers
  • The Knights Table at Little Stainforth serves great food, with a very friendly atmosphere and an amazing view
  • The Firebox Cafe @ Stage1Cycles at the Countryside Museum in Hawes serves Roost Coffee, savoury food, cakes, biscuits and a good range of vegetarian food
  • Kearton Tea Rooms in Thwaite in upper Swaledale has  stunning views over Kisdon
  • Bernies Café Bar in Ingleton is very popular - serving amazing scones with cream, great bacon sandwiches, plus real homemade soups. A good stop for walkers and cavers on the Ingleton Trail
  • Treat yourself to a smart afternoon tea in the sumptuous setting of one of the Swinton Park lounges

  • Enjoy the scenic walk from Clapham to Austwick, finishing with afternoon tea at the Austwick Traddock
  • Climb England's newest mountain, Calf Top, before descending and enjoying home made cake and a pot of tea at The Churchmouse at Barbon
  • Duncans Tearoom on Richmond's Finkle Street is very popular: lovely atmosphere, and a wonderful range of delicious home made cakes and desserts
  • Granny’s Kitchen in Richmond offers scrumptious savouries at lunchtime: try their fresh baked hot pasties and homemade pies. Stockist of lots of local products, a great range of handmade cakes, tray bakes, and scones are available too
  • In the former Richmond Station you'll find a small cinema, restaurant and several other food businesses including a bakery, ice cream parlour, and a micro brewery

  • After you've climbed the hill to see the remarkable Coldstone Cut sculpture and incredible views, reward yourself with a treat from Toft Gate Barn Cafe - they have a delicious range of cakes
  • The Bivouac at Ilton near Masham is a quirky cafe where you can enjoy a warming hot chocolate, play some old fashioned board games or just catch up with friends and family. They also run special events, trails and craft activities
  • The Old School Tea Room in Hebden serves delicious cakes in a beautiful setting and you might meet their pygmy goats and rare breed hens and guinea pigs outside their gift and crafts shop
  • Clapham Bunk cafe bar is a great place for wet days, dogs, kids, muddy gear welcome and fabulous food. A warm welcome, great food and a great selection of real ales. Quaint and quirky!
  • The Town End Farm Shop at Airton by Malham is a great place to buy local food, as well as to enjoy excellent cakes, coffee and meals
  • Walk around Fewston reservoir and then eat cake made by the lovely volunteers in the Washburn Heritage Centre

  • The Copper Kettle in Reeth is a bright, welcoming tearoom serving homemade meals and cakes. Their freshly prepared choices use local produce and always include gluten-free and vegan options
  • The Brasserie in the Courtyard just outside Settle have a great choice of food and drinks. From coffees and cake, breakfasts and a brew or a beautifully presented meal. Highly recommended
  • Forage Deli in Skipton takes pride in taking great seasonal ingredients and turning them into tasty food with heart
  • At Mackenzie's Smokehouse near Blubberhouses you can enjoy the cafe and shop for fine Yorkshire produce 
  • Walkers love Elaine's Tearooms at Feizor, near Oxenber Woods - a very homely, hospitable cafe serving delicious home cooked meals. A welcome tea and coffee stop on your stroll
  • Leyburn's Posthorn Tea and Coffee House is popular for their friendly, welcoming staff, and the freshly prepared food. Whether it’s a full English breakfast, light snack, or a tea and cake treat, it’s all delicious
  • The Corner House Cafe in Grassington comes highly recommended, serving delicious, beautifully presented food and cakes. A busy little cafe with lovely staff in a great setting
  • You can walk for miles on the Bolton Abbey Estate, and then reward yourself with ice cream or snacks in the riverside Cavendish Pavillion

  • Settle's The Boxer and Hound serve up delicious food and cakes alongside a lovely collection of local bottled beer to drink in or take away. They pride themselves on the good quality wine range they offer in house. Teas and locally roasted and blended coffees are available too for your refreshment stop
  • Driving through Newby between Clapham and Ingleton? Make a refreshment stop at Goat Gap Cafe - where a large steel goat sculpture by the A65 greets you! Local coffee served daily along with delicious food: simple classics like French onion soup to fulsome meals like spiced shoulder of lamb
  • High Parks Tea Room near Masham is an ideal place to take children - they even have a mini street scene for them to play in!
  • Lay of the Land Garden Centre's Cafe in Settle comes highly recommended - bright decor, excellent coffee and the food even better! A delicious range of cakes baked daily
