He also collected over 600 interviews with Yorkshire Dales people, creating an incredibly rich and fascinating insight into life in the Dales.
In 2012 Settle Stories started to digitise a selection of Bill’s collection of cassette tapes so they're preserved for generations to come.
The interviews included a wide range of farmers, landowners, and others local personalities, and highlight the different accents and dialects once used.
