Plant and Herb Folklore consists of a guided walk with a difference in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales. Discover the background of plants you would walk past everyday. Guided by a local expert you'll identify a whole range of plants and herbs that grow wild in fields, woods and hedgerows, You'll also learn about their history, their different uses and the stories and folklore attached to them. As part of the process you’ll collect your own herbs to create a fresh tea brewed on location. Suggested duration: 2 hours Price guideline per person: Up to 6 people from £10-£60 per person Art in the Landscape allows for observing, touching and understanding the elements of the natural environment which will bring you calm, distance you from the stress of working life and make you happier. You’ll be taught how to see the artistic possibilities of wood, leaf and stone, and help you make sculptures which celebrate the intrinsic glory of the natural world. No previous artistic experience is necessary. and the distance is only a mile, allowing maximum time to create. The session will follow a progression of simple steps in a relaxed, informal style and all the materials you need will be supplied. This is an experience open to all. Making art is an essential human activity found in every culture - we are all artists! Suggested duration: 3 hours Price guideline per person: Up to 4 people from £22.50 - £90 per person Take part in Guerilla Art with Josie Beszant, the art of interruption - a space, someone's thoughts, a viewpoint. Would you like to spend some time thinking about what positive change you would like to be in the world and acting on that through art? Guerilla Art is open to anyone with artistic ability or not. Josie will guide you through a unique experience and give you the tools to be a positive change in your chosen location. In addition to this, Josie Beszant offers an Adventures in Collage experience which allows visitors to experiment with different materials and techniques and go away with a good understanding of the medium and plenty of resources to draw on. Collage has existed for as long as there has been paper. It became popular in the 1950's when it was accepted into mainstream modern art with artists such as Picasso and Braque. Today, collage is still used as an outsider/rebel art form as you can destroy old material to make new, play with scale and size and change meaning.
